A family on a hike in the Badlands of North Dakota in 2022 made an unexpected and significant discovery. The father and his two sons, along with their cousin, stumbled upon what appeared to be a dinosaur leg sticking out of a rock. After sending a photo to a paleontologist, it was confirmed that they had found a rare juvenile T. rex skeleton. The excavation of the 66 million-year-old fossil is set to become an exhibit, allowing visitors to watch the cleaning and separation of the bones. The discovery could provide valuable insights into the debate surrounding juvenile T. rex specimens.
