The Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights is conducting a formal investigation into a civil rights complaint filed against Harvard. The complaint accuses the university of failing to protect Palestinian students and allies from targeted racism and harassment. The complaint alleges that the university did not take adequate measures to prevent harassment, intimidation, and threats against Palestinian and Arab students. Students who reported the harassment to administrators allegedly received slow and ineffective responses. The Education Department is already investigating Harvard over claims of antisemitism on campus.
